June 13, 2008 at 11:23 pm | In Uncategorized | 1 CommentThis post is uncategorized because it is not about the trip; it’s about the blog.
As much as I was gushing over wordpress to Tasha, I was just fooling around using my turtle’s account (I didn’t want to use my identity for some reason)… Don’t ask me the link of that blog; I’ve abandoned it. It was just to fool around. I was curious why wordpress was so popular and so many people were gushing over it. I suppose I joined them once I found out how good it was
Even though I quit blogging in my first year. Don’t even ask me why. Not a great topic. Hated the reason why, but then I was also at fault.
Next!!!
So Hana… I screwed up a bit with the moderation of your comment.
Sorry if I sent crappy emails about it. I got notification about it in my email. Bleh. I love the template too. Hahaha. So comel kan? Why don’t you try the recipe? I got no blender la. Maybe we can do it when I’m down in London. Hehe.
I would also like to warn you people not trust my blog’s stats. I think I inflate it on my own. For the life of me, now, I’ve no idea why I wanted to put a blog stat anyway. I keep opening and refreshing the page to see what was the last picture I posted. My memory is horrible now and “editing” the last post was more troublesome that pressing the F5 button on my keyboard. Haha.
Oh, and the italics when I type in Malay… It’s because I’ll be blogging primarily in English. And studying law, my tutors tell me that I should italize (when typing) or underline (when writing) some other language; most likely, Latin. It’s to show to the non-Malay speakers that I’m writing in another language. Maybe I should include translations as well… However, it’s only when I’m addressing someone that I know speaks Malay that I use Malay. Hmmmm…. Anyway, when I’m going to emphasize things, I’ll bold the words.
And since I realize that possibly a lot of people that I know might be visiting this site… Well… I would like to tell you that I’ve decided to not go to Queen’s Belfast next year; just next year. I still want to do an LLM in Human Rights Law there. Just not next year, regardless what I decide to do. When, I really don’t know… I need to think about it…
So please, Belfast or Northern Ireland would still be there even when I’m not (please don’t curse the Northern Irish any further. They’ve gone through more than enough, me thinks. Maybe because it seems that I keep learning about the bad things that happen there, not the good. Oh well…), Benandonner wouldn’t come back to Northern Ireland to finish the ruining of the Giant’s Causeway just because I’m not there… I mean, seriously!!!!!!!! Just go visit the place without me, ok? And just in case, Nana; no, I did not study Irish Folklore; that was Fatin Hanisah, not Fatin Hanani Salleh. I read the wikipedia article for it; but I remembered Fatin (OK from now on, every time I mention Fatin, it’ll be Fatin Hanisah. Even putting initials doesn’t seem to make any difference. And if Amni can get used to it… And since I don’t really keep in touch with those people who call me Fatin, it shouldn’t be much of a problem!!
) mentioned the myth about the Giant’s Causeway and someone was telling me excitedly that if I go to Belfast, don’t go visit the Giant’s Causeway until (s)he comes. I’ve no idea who is it already, I’m afraid. Whoever you are that said that to me, I’m sorry I won’t be there to see it with you.
I’m sorry, Beda, that it wouldn’t be as fun visiting Northern Ireland without me
And I would definitely miss your awesome place!!!!!!
Fatin, this just shows that Amni’s theory that the Irish have a quota on having only 2 Fatins on Ireland is crap since I’m the one deciding for myself and I definitely do not have even a drop of Irish blood in me; just an Irish stuffed turtle which was made in China and bought in Malaysia and plenty of Irish stuffed sheep (ok maybe not that many… Two, is it? I feel like coming to Dublin again now before I go back to Malaysia. Damn.).
Amni, I’m sorry I wouldn’t be cursing Northern Irish weather with you. Well, with you while you complain about Durham weather anyway. Haha. Now, assuming if I stay put in Malaysia, I will be making you jealous of the air-conditioning and the hot sunny weather I will be having. And the food!!! Hahaha. Kejam gila punya kawan. Nyek nyek.
Faliq, regardless which continent I’m in, you know that I would still be your friend. Just sorry that I wouldn’t be in the UK with you. I’ll definitely miss the silly things we do, like our stupid, silly yet serious conversation we just had.
Vic, I suppose that I wouldn’t be spending this Boxing Day in London after all. Good luck with your BVC and the examiners really suck!!!
Dee, you’ll be in between Vic to get to both Yan and I. Haha. Best of luck in the US as well!!
Yan, don’t worry about your options!! You’ll do fine!! I’m sure of it. Being a lawyer suck anyway
In my opinion anyway. I’m sure Faliq doesn’t think so. Haha. Still… There’s loads of opportunities!! The new visa scheme for UK!! I’ll tell you in real life. Heck, I don’t even know if you’ll ever read this. Heck, I’ve no idea if anyone will ever read this. Haha.
… And this person and that person blablabla… You know what? This sounds like it’s becoming my personal blog. I refuse to turn this into that!! This is totally gonna be about Norway and pictures!!! Still… Don’t feel bad about me; I am actually feeling bad for deciding, before Belfast decided whether they want me or not, that I won’t be continuing next year, due to the many hopes of my going there.
However, I’m going to ask Belfast if they’re going to accept me anyway and then ask whether they willing to allow me to defer the course for next year. Haha. Oh, I got a 2.2. And I didn’t get a first in ECHR, just so you know, Na. And I failed trust, which I have to decide whether I want to resit or not. I’m letting Belfast decide that too.
Suddenly, I realized that my saying “I’m letting Belfast decide that too” is as if the people living in Belfast, who might not even know what the hell is the law of trust about, decide whether I should resit for trust. Hahaha. Queen’s, I mean.
The University and Karl Johans Gate sign on it
June 13, 2008 at 1:59 am | In K, Oslo | 1 CommentIt’s still early, yet K has shown us what a poser he is. Hahaha
Jangan marah ye K… Nanti cepat tua, and then you can no longer lie to people about your age. Wahaha. I respect your privacy and won’t announce it to the whole world. Nyek nyek.
That’s the end of the first folder. I’ve no idea why my camera split the pictures into several folders. There might be pictures near the University still… but I’m too lazy to check. It’s almost 3 and I have my personal tutorial tomorrow. Need to wake up by noon. Not really the time people would think is early… Oh well
I’m a vampire, with 2 extra teeth on my upper gums to prove it; they’re canines!! Just that it didn’t came out. Hopefully it never would!!
We took plenty of silly pictures in front of the University though… However, it was taken using Nana’s camera, so I’m afraid I can’t post our silliness. Nevertheless, if Nana send me the pictures, I might post it up

Tasha, I think you should be a Norwegian, since I have a feeling their enthusiasm over Sex and the City movie is similar to yours; there were advertisements of the movie literally everywhere around Oslo; on the tram, posters, flags… you name it. Unbelievable!! I personally think that the movie wasn’t so great. Yes, Carrie was likable, especially if you don’t watch the series. I find her super annoying in the series. It was a good movie, I would recommend it to my friends to watch though. But this much hype? I remember when I was coming back from London from the trip where Fatin was supposed to come from Dublin after my exams, when I was picking a magazine in WHSmith in St Pancras, almost every magazine had Sex and the City article or some article relating to whatever Sex and the City in it. I found it rather overrated. Seriously…
Can you see what I see?
June 13, 2008 at 1:40 am | In Oslo, Statues | Leave a CommentI realize that wordpress only allows posts to be arranged reverse chronologically. It would make more sense for my entries to be arranged chronologically though. I know blogdrive allows things to be posted that way. However, I like wordpress. And this theme is so cute even though it has nothing to do with Norway. Hahaha. Oh well… Too bad then. Haha =P
Nonetheless, can you spot it? Whatever it is that I saw? I think my awesome camera makes it easier for you to see it. Haha. Can’t help it!! Azri has the same camera though. Fatin (Hanisah Firman, a friend of mine studying medicine in UCD [wanted to say UCD, Dublin... but it's a bit redundant considering that the D stands for Dublin already...]. Eerie how close our given name is, eh?) too.

June 13, 2008 at 1:06 am | In Oslo | Leave a CommentA fountain outside where we parked our car…
When we arrived in Oslo, we had a little bit of trouble searching for the place we were staying. Didn’t help that there was a lot of one way streets and Azri not being used to driving on the right hand side. So confusing!! Still, we managed to find our way there. However, our rooms weren’t ready yet; we had to return in an hour. Not only that, the place didn’t have a parking space nearby. We had to go some way from it to park our car. We got lost and confused. There was only one exit; that’s where we entered and exited from the place. So ridiculously confusing!! Still… we found it and arrived only an hour after we first found the hotel. Checked in and everyone was glad to see a bed. Not sleeping the night before as we were homeless (K’s studying in London, but he couldn’t sleep that night as well, I can’t remember. I was the only one able to sleep on the coach and plane. I manage to sleep on the plane!!!! Wahaha), all the others fell asleep. I had a shower since I had some sleep, unlike them. Nana said we’ll start walking around Oslo at 4.30, so they’ll have about an hour’s sleep. However, when 4.30 came, they were peacefully sleeping, with the boys snoring. I didn’t have the heart to wake them up, so I read a book. I fell asleep as well. Woke up after 6pm. However, the sun was still brightly shining as if it’s 1pm…
I did not bother bringing down the window…
June 13, 2008 at 12:43 am | In Nana, Road trip | Leave a CommentHence the shadow. Hehe.
Was heading towards Oslo city. A two hour drive from the airport. It was a blessing in disguise when only 4 of us went for the trip; we manage to rent a car!! So we could go around on our own timing instead of public transport timings. Weee!!!
I just love the sky. And so green!!! More green than I saw in Ireland!!! But then I was going to Dublin… Hehe
Random picture of Nana, reading the map to show the way for the guys. Unlike me, she did a lot of work. I just happily snapped pictures with my awesome camera. Haha
